WASHINGTON — We continue a Weather Watch Alert for showers and drizzle continuing Sunday.
Quick Forecast:
Sunday: Mostly cloudy and not as cool with showers and drizzle. High: 70.
Sunday Night: Lots of clouds with areas of drizzle and fog.. Low: 64.
Monday: Mostly cloudy and warmer with scattered PM showers/storms. High: 80.
Sunday will be another gloomy day across the DMV. Expect mainly cloudy skies and showers and drizzle through the afternoon.
After the heaviest rain ending Sunday morning, it'll remain damp as the day wears on. Temperatures will warm into the 60s to near 70, with some low-mid 70s possible across Virginia.
There is a chance for some sunshine, mainly for areas along I-81, as early as about 3 P.M. The D.C. area could see a few peeks of sun close to sunset.
Monday will start off mild, in the 60s and will warm into the low 80s. The first half of the day will feature more clouds than sunshine. By the afternoon, scattered showers and pop-up thunderstorms will move in, especially south and east of DC... by shortly after sunset, the unsettled weather could reach Maryland and the District, as well.

Sunday: Lots of clouds with showers, tapering to patchy drizzle afternoon. Highs: 67 - 72. Winds: SSE 5 - 10.
Sunday Night: Lots of clouds and mild with patchy late-night fog possible. Some areas of drizzle also possible. Lows: 61 - 66. Winds: S 5 - 10.
Monday: Mostly cloudy and warmer with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing late in the day, especially well south and east of the District. Muggy. Highs: 77 - 82. Winds: S 5 - 10.
Temperatures will be above average, once again, with highs in the middle 70s to near 80 for much of the upcoming week, with potentially mid and upper 80s for Wednesday.
Each day... except Wednesday... will feature some chance of rain. During the first half of the week, with warmer and more humid air in place, there could be showers as well as thunderstorms in the forecast.
For Thursday into next weekend, though, it appears cooler air will move in... so conditions may turn more rainy/drizzly, with less of a storm threat.
